Dear Jane,

I can hardly believe 33 years have gone by since I have seen your aunt Beverly (Yen Mei).

You can’t believe how the houses off Woodcliff in Encino have changed in 33 years. Of course looking on Longbow and not Scadlock Lane made it just about impossible to find the house she lived in with Renata and her step-father in 1975.

I confess that I have thought about her on and off over the years and this will be the third time I have tried to find her. I am determined to speak to her even if I have to hire a private detective to get her phone number. I have just too many fond memories of the time we were together to give up now.

I am glad you want to protect her whereabouts because you don’t know who I am. It’s possible your mother remembers me when Yen Mei and I visited her in San Francisco around 1976.

Below are some recent pictures in case she is worried that I am now an old guy with a big stomach.

A little about me. When I am not working out at the gym, I hike, bike and read and write about Border Collies, History, Psychohistory, Philosophy, Politics, Financial, and the Environment.

I am divorced and have one non-biological daughter (I don’t like the term step-daughter) who is 27. She lives in Brentwood, believe it or not, very close to the apartment building (south of Wilshire) where Yen Mei lived in 1977.

For the last 30 years I am living in the same house that I built in the Santa Monica Mountains (near Malibu).

Over the years I have been involved in at least 9 different businesses; everything from, real estate development, operating a chain of restaurants to affordable cosmetic surgery. The health care company that I started with my cousin recently went public.

So I would ask you again, please take pity on me and give Yen Mei my phone number or tell me how I can get a hold of her.
